We’re looking for engineers who will re-imagine the way wireless performance of a device is analyzed and work cross-functionally with teams to deliver the outstanding wireless performance for our customers. Our engineers help architect, research, and design, Apple’s world-class wireless products. All members of the numerous teams within the organization bring their own unique expertise to collectively bring wireless technologies to our products, following Apple’s culture of excellence in engineering principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct wireless performance research focused on understanding factors affecting wireless performance and end user experience.
  • Analyze antenna performance, modem performance, SAR, RF algorithms, user interaction with device, channel conditions, co-existence, and interference.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive changes in antenna, wireless algorithms, and system level design and architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years industry experience in wireless RF and system level performance testing.
  • Strong understanding of cellular, WiFi or GNSS technologies.
  • Test automation experience.
  • Python preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering.
  • 3+ years industry experience in wireless systems.
  • Experience working on physical layer wireless algorithms.
  • Strong background in wireless communications.
  • Experience with cellular field performance testing and network drops.
  • Experience analyzing baseband logs to root cause performance issues.
  • Cellular base station side experience.
