The Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Controller and become an integral part of the accounting team. Some of the duties will include: grant accounting and reporting, allocations of shared costs, budget development, ensuring compliance with Uniform Administrative Requirements and contract terms and conditions. The Accountant is responsible for monitoring cash flow to ensure sufficient cash on hand to cover various expenses. The Accountant will also perform various reconciliations, ensuring all month-end and year end accrual are posted to the general ledger, and making sure various periodic financial statement and grant reports are prepared accurately and timely to the funding source. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly financials, reports and budgets according to schedule in timely manner. Assist with audits and yearly reports and schedules in timely manner. Assist with contract audits, corporate audits, including A-133 and SEFA. Verify and post and reconcile all transactions that are properly documented in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations. Responsible for maintaining daily cash flow Reconcile cash and balance sheet accounts Work on various tasks and reports assigned by the Controller QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university Minimum two years experience as an accountant / bookkeeper. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work with minimal supervision.
