About the position

The Activities Assistant at Bay Vista Commons is responsible for planning and implementing engaging programs that enhance the well-being of residents in an assisted living facility. This part-time role focuses on fostering creativity, connection, and compassion, while building meaningful relationships with residents and their families.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead activities tailored to residents' interests and needs, including games, parties, crafts, exercise classes, and spiritual programs.
• Promote resident participation and engagement in activities that support their physical, mental, and social well-being.
• Coordinate with and supervise volunteers, ensuring they feel supported and engaged.
• Care for facility pets and assist with maintaining recreational supplies and equipment.
• Provide transportation for outings and appointments, driving the facility bus safely and responsibly.
• Work closely with residents and their families, offering emotional support and fostering a sense of community.

Requirements

• Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Home Care Aide Certification preferred.
• Experience in elder care or activity coordination is a plus.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Creativity and the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• A genuine interest in caring for the elderly and enhancing their quality of life.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a facility bus.
