About the position

The position involves providing Chemical Dependency services and psychotherapy to a diverse clientele, including adults, adolescents, significant others of chemical dependency patients, and families. The role is performed under indirect supervision, ensuring that the individual can operate independently while still having access to guidance when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Answers and triages patient calls for information, treatment services, and general chemical dependency advice.
  • Responds to and appropriately handles crisis calls.
  • Provides higher level assessment including non-chemical dependency mental health diagnoses, danger to self or others, and emotional/family dysfunction evaluations.
  • Performs intake and psychosocial assessments.
  • Develops and presents treatment plans to the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program/Services treatment team for recommendations, revisions, and approval.
  • Participates in clinical case conferences.
  • Conducts chemical dependency focused educational lectures.
  • Provides general chemical dependency counseling, including individual and group counseling services.
  • Provides Adolescent, Significant Other, Family, and Multi-Family therapy as assigned.
  • Provides case management services, including resource and referral coordination.
  • May perform mentor functions and provide clinical direction to Chemical Dependency Recovery Program/Services Counselors I and II, student interns, licensure candidates, and Alcohol or Drug Certificate candidates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
