About the position

The Adjunct Faculty - Substance Abuse Counseling position at Bristol Community College involves teaching and developing curriculum for Substance Abuse Counseling courses. Responsibilities

  • Teach and design Substance Abuse Counseling course material to meet learning outcomes.
  • Assess student learning and assign grades using equitable and inclusive pedagogies.
  • Create an effective learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity.
  • Employ a variety of assessments to ensure classroom instruction leads to student learning outcomes.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal, and professional goals.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student's academic communities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities related to technology and equity.
  • Complete required trainings such as Title IX and FERPA.
  • Be available to students for assistance in meeting course requirements.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and reflect Bristol's core values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in a mental health or substance abuse counseling setting.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor I or II (LADC I or LADC II), or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
  • Proven technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.

Nice-to-haves
