About the position

The Adjunct Instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program at Kellogg Community College is responsible for providing supplemental instruction to students in the nursing program. This part-time position requires teaching during day and evening hours, and the instructor will report to the Nurse Aide Training Program Manager. The role emphasizes creating an inclusive learning environment and supporting students in their educational journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supplemental instruction to students in the Nurse Aide Training Program.
  • Assist in the delivery of course content in classroom, clinical, or nursing laboratory settings.
  • Supervise students during practical training and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and program standards.
  • Support students in their learning and development in nursing skills.

Requirements

  • A license in Practical Nursing or an Associate degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • A current unencumbered LPN or RN license in the State of Michigan.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse, with at least one year in long-term care services.
  • Experience in supervising adults and/or nurse aides in clinical or educational settings.
  • At least one year of experience providing skilled nursing care in non-hospital residential settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience teaching in a community college.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.
  • Knowledge of Nurse Aide Training Program State Curriculum.
  • Current State of Michigan Nurse Aide Training Program Train the Trainer certification.
