Aquatic Center Lifeguard

About the position

Under the Aquatic Center Supervisor's direction, the Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring safety in the pool area at the Aquatics Center. This role involves monitoring individuals using aquatic facilities, ensuring the operation and safety of equipment, and reporting any unusual activities or unsafe conditions to the Lifeguard Supervisor. The Lifeguard must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends, and perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety in the pool area at all times.
• Monitors individuals using aquatic facilities to include operation and safety of equipment.
• Reports any unusual activities or unsafe conditions to the Lifeguard Supervisor.
• Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

• Lifeguard/CPR Certification
• Must be an excellent swimmer
• Ability to work with both children and adults
• Knowledge of first aid
• Knowledge of general safety requirements and procedures
• Ability to read signs, labels and follow directions
