About the position

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, develop, and maintain systems for Apple's augmented reality platforms using ARKit and Metal. Collaborate with technical designers and artists to develop new features for augmented reality systems using Swift, C, C++, and Objective C. Work with internal and external clients to define tile framework for the Application Programming Interface and APIs. Monitor and debug tile Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality frameworks to ensure they run efficiently and optimally. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain systems for Apple's augmented reality platforms using ARKit and Metal.
  • Collaborate with technical designers and artists to develop new features for augmented reality systems using Swift, C, C++, and Objective C.
  • Work with internal and external clients to define tile framework for the Application Programming Interface and APIs.
  • Monitor and debug tile Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality frameworks to ensure they run efficiently and optimally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with programming with Swift to build applications and software frameworks.
  • 1 year of experience using 2D/3D rendering engines to build interactive game or consumer applications.
  • 1 year of experience designing new APIs to be shipped as SDK to developers to expand framework feature sets.
  • 1 year of experience building modern mobile applications using platform UI frameworks such as UIKit or SwiftUI.
  • Ability to work in a mixed Objective-C/Swift codebase, including writing code that interoperates in a mixed language environment.
  • Understanding of UI design language and tools, such as Sketch, and experience in collaboration with UX designers for turning mock-ups into coded solutions.
  • Writing unit and integration tests in at least one of the testing frameworks shipping with Python/Swift/Objective-C.
  • Using platform tools and systems to ship iOS applications into app marketplaces, AppStore.
