About the position
To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families.
Responsibilities
- Routinely provide patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain employee records.
- Identify needs for and provide staff education/staff development.
- Participate in discharge planning, community resource referrals, and education.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Oversee daily operations of unit/area in a cost-effective manner.
- Involved in community outreach activities as pertinent.
- Initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
- Take responsibility for self-development and support a learning environment.
- Display commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years of hire date (Required) or Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) within 2 years of hire date (Required)
- 1+ years clinical experience (Required)
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills and work ethic.
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high pressure situations with professionalism and integrity.
- Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies.
- Proficient in PC and computer applications.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in a specialty clinical area or leadership (Required within 2 Years)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
