About the position

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely provide patient care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • Identify needs for and provide staff education/staff development.
  • Participate in discharge planning, community resource referrals, and education.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee daily operations of unit/area in a cost-effective manner.
  • Involved in community outreach activities as pertinent.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
  • Take responsibility for self-development and support a learning environment.
  • Display commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years of hire date (Required) or Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) within 2 years of hire date (Required)
  • 1+ years clinical experience (Required)
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and work ethic.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high pressure situations with professionalism and integrity.
  • Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies.
  • Proficient in PC and computer applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in a specialty clinical area or leadership (Required within 2 Years)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
