About the position

The Associate, Government Relations will support the Government Relations team at LA28, which is responsible for engaging with various stakeholders, including government officials at multiple levels. This role involves coordinating projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the team as they prepare for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of Government Relations projects.
  • Track local, state, and federal legislation relevant to LA28's engagement and priorities.
  • Prepare activity reports and metrics for measuring program success.
  • Draft and compile reports, briefings, and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate ongoing stakeholder engagement through meetings and correspondence.
  • Develop and track meeting agendas, materials, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain databases for managing outreach and engagement activities.
  • Research and analyze information relevant to LA28 stakeholders.
  • Maintain a centralized file management system.
  • Assist with planning and execution of key LA28 events, including travel arrangements and logistics.

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of direct experience in government, external relations, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written presentation preparation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and contribute under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with federal government relations and advocacy.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Experience in travel coordination and project management.
  • Working knowledge of CRM software and project management tools.
