Responsibilities

  • Serve as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participate in administrative and quality initiatives.
  • Attend and participate in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide guidance to facility staff.
  • Review and revise facility’s clinical guidelines and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Train facility staff and supervise facility clinical staff.
  • Serve as the attending physician for residents at each facility.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to manage day-to-day resident care.
  • Provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services by rounding on patients.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with acute illnesses and chronic diseases.
  • Complete provider documentation in Theoria’s proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system, ChartEasy™.
  • Participate in Theoria’s Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, RPM and other medical quality initiatives.
  • Supervise collaborating nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Utilize electronic/online medical tools such as EHR systems and state/county medical systems.

Requirements

  • Medical degree and valid medical license.
  • Experience in managing patient care in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with healthcare teams including NPs and PAs.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in quality assurance and process improvement in healthcare settings.
  • Leadership experience in a medical director role.
