Responsibilities
- Serve as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participate in administrative and quality initiatives.
- Attend and participate in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide guidance to facility staff.
- Review and revise facility’s clinical guidelines and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Train facility staff and supervise facility clinical staff.
- Serve as the attending physician for residents at each facility.
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to manage day-to-day resident care.
- Provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary care services by rounding on patients.
- Diagnose and treat patients with acute illnesses and chronic diseases.
- Complete provider documentation in Theoria’s proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system, ChartEasy™.
- Participate in Theoria’s Chronic Care Management, Transitional Care, RPM and other medical quality initiatives.
- Supervise collaborating nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- Utilize electronic/online medical tools such as EHR systems and state/county medical systems.
Requirements
- Medical degree and valid medical license.
- Experience in managing patient care in skilled nursing facilities.
- Ability to collaborate with healthcare teams including NPs and PAs.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
