About the position

Trinity Industries is hiring an Audit & Trade Program Specialist for our Eagle Pass, TX facility! The Audit & Trade Program Specialist is responsible for supporting compliance program requirements to ensure compliance with US import and export laws and regulations. This person will also be responsible for auditing our import and export transactions and validating country of origin of Trinity’s material and finished products. This role also monitors and assists in CTPAT and Drawback programs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for solicitation of USMCAs, country of origin certificates and provides USMCA certificates as requested
  • Responsible for soliciting and auditing SAFE Trains Sensitive Technology certificates
  • Responsible for USMCA eligibility analysis for Finished Goods
  • Audits import and export declarations, reports findings, and support external auditors with information and documentation
  • Maintain compliant processes specific to auditing, reporting and recordkeeping to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Interact with Supply Chain, Broker, Security, Accounting and Treasury teams
  • Respond to daily brokerage inquiries on topics such as missing trade data, ADD/CVD review, and other related trade compliance topics
  • Respond to internal customer trade compliance inquiries
  • Support in updating and administering CTPAT Portal, security and compliance profiles
  • Facilitate Drawback program. Including, but not limited to, contacting critical suppliers, obtaining internal data, and supporting critical Drawback requests
  • Administer ACE account and monthly reporting to gauge activity and duty savings by program
  • Maintains internal controls and recordkeeping by ensuring all entry packets are received timely

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • 3+ years’ experience in global trade compliance related position
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
  • Knowledge of USMCA and country of origin determination, C-TPAT, and CTPAT Compliance Program (formerly ISA)
  • Strong analytical as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to work in teams and work independently to resolve problems and deliver required results
  • Willing to take additional levels of responsibility as required
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, resolves problems, and deliver results in compliance with trade laws
  • Working knowledge of Customs Regulations, Preference Programs, border clearance, etc.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers professionally
