Backend Software Engineer

About the position

The Backend team develops the core of the Alta Video Management System. These are Cloud based distributed systems monitoring and managing Video Cameras, Access Control Systems and Sensors. The Backend team is responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining the entire backend ecosystem. This includes developing new features, adding capabilities and increasing capacities, along with maintaining the existing CI/CD systems and customer deployments. We are an agile team that prides ourselves in allowing great autonomy and valuing collaboration, quality and security throughout.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, develop, design, and maintain the backend ecosystem.
• Develop new features and add capabilities to the system.
• Increase capacities of the backend systems.
• Maintain existing CI/CD systems and customer deployments.

Requirements

• Experience working as a software developer.
• Experience in building the backend for large cloud based distributed systems.
• Experience with a backend language such as Go, C++, Java, Rust or Python.
• Passion for writing high-quality code.
• Demonstrated outstanding technical ability.
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn new programming languages and frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of service-oriented architectures and building cloud-based products.
• Experience with Machine Learning, Computer Vision, AI technologies.
• Team player who thinks holistically and enjoys solving complex problems.
