About the position

The Boiler Operator position is a temporary and intermittent role responsible for operating and maintaining boilers and related mechanical equipment. The operator will ensure proper functioning of equipment, maintain logs, and perform cleaning and maintenance tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of boiler systems within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Operates boilers and related mechanical equipment.
• Reads gauges and checks equipment for proper functioning.
• Maintains logs of operations and maintenance activities.
• Cleans and maintains boiler and related equipment, including feed water pumps and electric motors.
• Performs miscellaneous duties such as cleaning the boiler room and hauling coal and ashes.

Requirements

• Boiler Operator licensure appropriate for type of boiler operation pursuant to Ohio Revised Code section 4104.19.
