We are seeking a diligent and motivated individual to join our dynamic team. The BSA Associate plays a crucial role in protecting the firm from financial crime risks by ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and other relevant anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring client files, conducting investigations into potentially suspicious activity, and supporting the firm’s Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a developing compliance professional to deepen their expertise within the investment management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Performing KYC/CDD/EDD and beneficial ownership verification on prospective clients and related parties (e.g., directors, signatories, and beneficial owners), as well as conducting sanctions and adverse news screenings.
  • Responsible for quality control on investor documentation received to ensure accuracy and completeness, as well as verification of information against reliable sources and ensure all required fields are filled correctly.
  • Reviewing Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements for new clients and ongoing clients.
  • Liaising with fund administrators and investors to ensure appropriate documentation is collected and processed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate investigation review and disposition of potential matches received from Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and FinCEN under Section 314(a) of the USA PATRIOT Act, as well as suspicious activity noted on client accounts.
  • Maintaining meticulous KYC/AML records for all clients, including gathering all documentation in a single location, composing well written summary narrative of data collected and reviewed, making appropriate recommendations, and assigning appropriate risk factors. Ensuring BSA files remain current, accurate and well documented.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of BSA regulatory filings.
  • Assisting in AML policy and procedure development by providing input to documentation.
  • Aiding internal and external KYC/ AML audits/testing.
  • Assisting with AML training initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory requirements.
  • Working on ad-hoc projects as needed.
