About the position

The Campus Police Officer at Wilkes University is responsible for providing police services to the university community, ensuring safety and security on campus, and protecting university property. This role involves enforcing university policies, local ordinances, and state laws, responding to emergencies, and participating in crime prevention initiatives. The position is open for both part-time and full-time candidates, with flexible scheduling options available.

Responsibilities

• Provide police services for the Wilkes University community.
• Protect Wilkes University property.
• Enforce university policies and procedures, local ordinances, and state laws.
• Respond to incidents, accidents, and emergency situations.
• Conduct initial and follow-up investigations into significant and criminal incidents.
• Participate in crime prevention and community-oriented public safety programming.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of Act 120 training or its equivalent.
• Two years of police experience or equivalent experience/training.
• Successful completion of MPOETC certification examination.
• Pass a physical examination, psychological test, criminal history check, firearms qualification, and background investigation.

Nice-to-haves
