About the position

The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for obtaining two-dimensional ultrasonic images of the heart, including 2D echocardiograms, 2D Doppler echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms. This role involves assisting physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms and providing excellent customer service to patients by explaining the purpose and duration of testing.

Responsibilities

• Obtain two-dimensional ultrasonic images of the heart including 2D echocardiograms, 2D Doppler echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms.
• Assist physicians in conducting transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Obtain pertinent patient data for interpretation by a board-certified cardiologist.
• Explain the purpose and duration of testing to patients to alleviate fears.
• Provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography or Echo School preferred.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required within twelve months of position.
• CPR certification required.
• At least 1 year of cardiac sonography experience required.
