About the position

The Ready Mix Driver role at Argos USA, LLC involves transporting ready mix concrete products from batch plants to customer job sites, ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of the concrete mixer truck. The driver is responsible for maintaining the quality of the concrete, performing vehicle inspections, and ensuring safe delivery to various locations. This position requires flexibility in working hours based on customer demands and emphasizes safety and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

• Transport ready mix concrete products from batch plants to customer job sites.
• Unload concrete at destination job sites while maintaining proper slump.
• Inspect, service, and clean the concrete mixer truck regularly.
• Follow directions and instructions from dispatch and plant manager accurately.
• Drive the truck safely and efficiently, ensuring safe maneuverability at job sites.
• Maintain radio contact with dispatch and plant during operations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report its condition.
• Conduct daily vehicle maintenance, including checking and adding fluids, lubricating, and fueling the truck.
• Wash vehicles to remove cement dust and concrete buildup, using corrosive materials as necessary.
• Assist mechanics with vehicle repairs when needed.
• Set up and pour retaining blocks, curbs, etc., when returning to the yard with excess concrete.
• Maintain a clean work environment for the truck and plant.

Requirements

• Must possess a Class B Commercial Drivers' License (Class A preferred).
• Must possess or be able to obtain a current DOT Medical Qualification.
• Must have at least 12 months of CDL driving experience.
• Must be able to pass a background check, fitness for duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug testing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight.
• Must meet Driver Qualification Standards for the operating company.
