The position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. Responsibilities
- Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
- Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard DVIR.
- Reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Participates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Works closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies.
- Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
- Ensures all containers are dumped and the customer’s location is clean.
- Completes and submits customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
- Positions containers properly on the customer’s property.
- Follows route assignments and completes all documentation at the end of the route.
Requirements
- No prior work experience required.
- Must have a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Acceptable driving record required.
