About the position

The Central Sterile Technician (CSR) position at Bartlett Regional Hospital is a full-time role within the Surgical Services team. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment are properly managed, including decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution. This role requires formal training and clinical experience, and the technician will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Lead Central Sterile Room Technician, who will provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Receive formal training and clinical experience in sterile processing duties.
• Ensure all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment are properly inventoried.
• Decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize, store, and distribute surgical items in a timely manner.
• Act as a resource for sterile processing functions and processes.
• Provide training to new or existing employees in sterile processing procedures.
• Coach and mentor junior staff members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in sterile processing procedures in a hospital setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of appointment.
