Peraton is seeking skilled Cloud Software Engineers to join our dynamic Cyber Intelligence team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you'll contribute to the design and development of an enterprise-level multi-cloud environment that empowers national security operations. You'll work on challenging and meaningful projects involving cloud software research, development, and engineering-touching every phase of the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop secure, scalable cloud-based software solutions
  • Conduct requirements analysis, system integration, and performance evaluation
  • Enhance and sustain complex systems supporting national defense
  • Troubleshoot, validate, and resolve software and infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate with top engineers, analysts, and mission leaders

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • A minimum of six years of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++
  • A minimum of five years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in software integration and software Unit Testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required. (Four years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement)
  • A Master's degree in a technical field can be considered equivalent to two years towards the experience requirement.
  • One of the following certifications are required and must be active prior to starting: AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong proficiency in AWS SDKs and APIs
  • Expertise in designing scalable, efficient AWS Cloud Architectures.
  • Experience performing AWS Well Architected Framework Reviews
  • Hands on experience with AWS cloud, serverless architecture and cloud application deployment
  • A deep understanding of AWS services and how to leverage them to drive innovation
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools, like CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Skilled in CI/CD Testing
  • Familiar with or have used AWS Pricing Calculator and Cost Explorer
  • Familiar with or have used CloudWatch and CloudTrail
  • Experience with Gitlab for Version Control.
