The Raytheon team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the AN/TPY-2 missile defense program's team Firefly and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers' wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms. Team Firefly's mission is to support domestic tests and internationally deployed assets. The team is responsible for installing, configuring and calibrating radar software, providing back support to tests and operations. This position is onsite in Woburn MA, when not traveling.

  • Availability and willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS (15% travel expected).
  • Provide software reach-back support to OCONUS/CONUS sites through process updates or investigation or software anomalies.
  • Support will occasionally be off-hours.
  • Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site twice a year.
  • Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada.
  • Experience with Scripting languages (C, Shell, Perl).
  • Experience using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs, as well as optimize code for performance.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, QEWR, UEWR, SRP or other current missile defense programs.
  • Data analysis using any combination of scripting tools, Python, Matlab, and COTS products.
  • Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible.
  • Experience with technical writing such as SVDs and process plans.
  • Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems.
  • Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
