Responsibilities
- Serve and maintain food quantities for large numbers of people
- Assist with general cleaning chores in the dining area and kitchen
- Set up, break down and maintain independent serveries
- Provide assistance with catered functions
- Provide guidance to student employees
- Be well groomed and wear the proper issued uniform
- Assist with stocking as requested
- Participate in training, as well as other departmental function requirements
- Other duties as requested
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience applying basic culinary techniques
- Ability to operate and maintain production equipment
- Basic knife skills, and the ability to grill, sauté, roast, broil, and fry food
- Knowledge of proper/safe time and temperature for food handling
- Ability to operate small kitchen equipment, including Robo-coup, mandolin, mixers, immersion blenders, potato peeler, etc.
- Must have good customer service skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as within a team
- Serve-Safe Certified or the ability to become certified
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Nice-to-haves
- Six months culinary experience preferred
