This Tax Analyst position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in public or corporate tax accounting. In this role, you will work with a tenured team that is excited to mentor and develop. You will play a key role in helping the team stay current with the ever evolving tax laws, ensure compliance, and solve interesting problems. The Tax Analyst assists in preparing and completing financial statement’s provision for income taxes and tax returns and reports involved with federal, state, and local tax liabilities, meeting all required deadlines. This position develops knowledge of all tax laws affecting the company. The Tax Analyst reviews proposals for tax implications and recommends actions that meet the business plans while managing the tax liability; assists management in tax audits.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares on a timely basis federal, state and local income tax returns, tax extensions and various estimated tax payments.
  • Prepares and reconciles tax liability accounts.
  • Assists Manager (as needed) with tax audits.
  • Prepares on a timely basis provision for income taxes to be included in quarterly financial statements.
  • Maintains income tax compliance software.
  • Responds in a timely manner to tax authorities in connection with tax filings.
  • Monitors existing and emerging tax law changes, assessing the impact on the company and document finding and assist in implementation related to state tax issues.
  • Researches taxability of services in new and existing jurisdictions.
  • Prepares or assists outside service provider in preparing Secretary of State/Annual report filings and business licenses.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in corporate Tax and Accounting including US federal, provision, multi-state and local.
  • 4-year Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related degree.
  • MS Office experience, including the ability to build pivot tables and vlookups in Excel.
  • Demonstrated analytic, quantitative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator, demonstrating ability to partner and learn.
  • Time management skills.
  • Experience with Oracle or a similar enterprise accounting system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Public accounting experience, highly preferred.
  • CPA, preferred.
