About the position

The Institute for Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System is seeking fellowship-trained Intensivists to join the Rapid Response Team (RRT) at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. This role involves providing early intensive care interventions to non-ICU patients, aiming to reduce their need for ICU transfers and improve overall patient outcomes. The ideal candidates will be committed to academic medicine and possess strong clinical skills, as they will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide state-of-the-art, evidence-based critical care to acutely ill patients.
  • Perform bedside procedures such as airway maintenance, intubation, and central line insertions.
  • Fulfill clinical duties as a full-time intensivist, including shifts in the ICU and other critical care services.
  • Write detailed medical records for all critical care services and procedures provided to patients.
  • Achieve an annual work-relative value unit (wRVU) target based on billable critical care services and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical continuing education courses and workshops to expand competency in treatment and procedures.
  • Promote safety and quality through evidence-based medicine and excellent multidisciplinary communication.
  • Teach evidence-based medicine to critical care fellows, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in research activities including clinical trials and drafting manuscripts for academic journals.

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited university.
  • New York State Medical License.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with a diverse set of teammates.
