About the position

As a Cyber Security Specialist I at Convergint Federal, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our clients' digital assets, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to protect against cyber threats. The person in this role must provide world-class service to customers, colleagues, and communities. Responsibilities

  • Monitor network and system logs for suspicious activities and potential security threats.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain incident response procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and ensure security patches are applied.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure the organization remains in adherence.
  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness within the organization.
  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Manage and maintain security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Research and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the security posture.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and incidents.
  • Generate regular reports on the status of security measures and incidents for management and stakeholders.
  • Document all security incidents, investigations, and outcomes for further analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties assigned within reason of current role previously specified.

Requirements

  • High School or GED diploma.
  • 0-2 years of proven experience with DoD Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, and RMF; Knowledge and understanding of NIST SP.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence.
  • Knowledge in using security tools and software for monitoring, detection, and prevention.
  • Ability to problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing security threats.
