Demand & Purchasing Planner

About the position

Travelpro is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Demand & Purchasing Planner to join our Supply Chain team! This is a great opportunity for someone with advanced Excel skills, strong communication, and a willingness to learn the ropes of demand planning and inventory management. Responsibilities

• Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
• Develop, update, and monitor demand forecasts based on historical sales, promotional plans, and seasonal trends.
• Use Excel-based tools to model inventory, analyze trends, and support purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with the team to generate and track purchase orders, ensuring alignment with lead times and inventory needs.
• Participate in the S&OP process—gathering inputs, supporting scenario planning, and helping keep communication flowing across teams.
• Communicate with internal teams and vendors to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
• Help prepare clear and concise reports or summaries that guide supply and demand decision-making.
• Identify data or process issues and bring forward solutions.
• Support ad hoc projects that might touch operations, planning, or purchasing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in a demand planning, purchasing, or supply chain-related role.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, functions, lookups, etc.).
• Exposure to ERP/MRP systems is a plus (we use JDE EnterpriseOne).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple moving parts without losing track of details.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is nice but not expected.
