About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is focused on providing care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health needs in a residential treatment facility. The DSP will work to foster a positive environment, assist individuals in daily living activities, and promote their integration into the community by maximizing their strengths and interests. This position requires a compassionate and dependable individual who is dedicated to helping others achieve their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of individuals and provide appropriate support.
• Assist individuals with daily living activities as needed.
• Plan and supervise activities for individuals.
• Document care and support provided to individuals.
• Administer medications as required.
• Manage crises effectively when they arise.
• Plan and implement therapeutic activities under supervision.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Active driver's license with a clear DMV check preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health needs.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
