About the position

The Director of the Life Recovery Program at Nashville Rescue Mission is responsible for managing the daily operations and environment of the Men's Life Recovery Program. This role involves supporting the Vice President of Ministries, leading a diverse team, and ensuring that the program is Gospel-centered and balanced across various dimensions of recovery. The Director will also engage with community partners and oversee the development of staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily schedule and environment of the Life Recovery Program to ensure goals are Gospel-centered and balanced.
  • Maintain and clarify program standards according to the handbook.
  • Confront and counsel interpersonal issues among staff, volunteers, and clients to minimize conflict.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to retain a qualified team of staff and volunteers.
  • Lead meetings with the program team to maintain clear communication about client issues and progress.
  • Assign programmatic tasks evenly among the program team and oversee their completion.
  • Develop relationships with local churches, social agencies, and similar programs for referrals and edification.
  • Build and maintain a strong educational volunteer base in collaboration with the volunteer department.
  • Work with the Director of Therapy and Life Coaching to achieve program goals.
  • Teach in the core curriculum and chapels regularly and as needed.
  • Counsel clients one-on-one and in groups regularly and as needed.
  • Evaluate, report, and provide advice to the Vice President, Ministries regarding program excellence.
  • Complete monthly summaries of program progress for the Board and donors.
  • Represent the program and Nashville Rescue Mission to the public professionally.

Requirements

  • BS/BA from an accredited college or university in Theology, Social Services, or a related area.
  • 5-7 years of experience in recovery or life transformation program leadership, or 12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Master's level education preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, lead, and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and sound judgment.
  • Professional image with excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain valid certifications such as Crisis Prevention, first aid, CPR, and Narcan.
