About the position

The Distribution Material Handler I at Wausau Supply Company is responsible for quality control, sorting, and maintaining the flow of materials through the distribution system. This role requires effective communication and the ability to maintain positive relations within the organization while ensuring that distribution goals are met and potential problems are anticipated. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to high standards of workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pack to ensure all orders are pulled and packaged properly to be loaded.
  • Ensure all orders are loaded properly on the correct trailer and all the paperwork is complete so the orders can ship.
  • Develop and maintain a clean, safe working environment and ensure participation in safety programs and required trainings.
  • Consistently demonstrate and incorporate principles of safety for self and others into daily activities.
  • Sort and move product interdepartmentally while operating and using a variety of material handling equipment, including forklift, hand-helds, racks, etc.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and encourages team effort.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team, and/or company mission.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Up to 1 year of safe working experience in warehouse/distribution environment.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Hand-held WMS technology experience.
