About the position

Boater's World Marine Centers is seeking a reliable and dedicated Driver/Yard Attendant to join our team at our Grand Prairie, TX location. The Driver/Yard Attendant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dealership's outdoor facilities and providing excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicles for tasks such as transporting boats, trailers, and equipment within the dealership premises or to off-site locations.
  • Safely and efficiently handle boats during launching, loading, and storage processes.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the yard area, including sweeping, debris removal, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of boats and accessories stored in the yard.
  • Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers with loading and unloading boats, answering basic inquiries, and directing them to appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Operate yard equipment such as forklifts, trailers, and tractors in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Assist service technicians with moving boats and equipment as required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and customers.
  • Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the dealership's outdoor areas, including walkways and parking lots.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • This position requires a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with boat handling techniques is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience trailering and transporting boats.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with boat handling techniques.
