About the position

The Store Supervisor at DSW plays a crucial role in supporting store management by overseeing customer service, merchandising, and inventory management to drive sales and achieve store goals. This position requires collaboration with the management team to prioritize daily operations and ensure compliance with company policies. The Store Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a positive in-store experience, managing inventory activities, and assisting in human resources functions such as training and performance feedback.

Responsibilities

• Assist in customer service by modeling CEL behaviors and responding to customer feedback.
• Maintain store standards to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Complete daily opening and closing tasks, including store cleaning and maintenance.
• Communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals to the team and assign tasks accordingly.
• Supervise and participate in inventory management activities, including freight receipt and markdowns.
• Manage omni activities in the store, such as Charge/Send and BOPIS/BOSTS.
• Ensure a safe environment for customers and associates by maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Assist in recruiting and training new associates, providing feedback on performance.
• Support payroll and timekeeping activities for associates.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of retail experience.
• Some college education preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive mindset.
• Ability to manage conflicts and ambiguous situations effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate team members.
• Time management skills and professionalism.
• Proficiency in basic computer use, including Microsoft Office.
