About the position

The Education Training Specialist at the American Rental Association (ARA) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive training programs focused on forklifts and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs). This position involves conducting both classroom instruction and hands-on training sessions, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The specialist will develop effective training strategies, collaborate with experts to create educational materials, and provide support to Spanish-speaking members by translating and delivering courses. The role is essential for advancing the skills and knowledge of ARA members in the rental industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead classroom instruction and hands-on training sessions for ARA Certified Forklift and Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training.
  • Develop and implement training strategies and processes to support training objectives.
  • Analyze training needs to develop new and improve existing training programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design educational resources and trainings for adult learners.
  • Write educational materials, including video scripts and training documents, considering adult learning principles.
  • Translate and deliver courses for Spanish-speaking members, ensuring effective communication and support.
  • Represent ARA at events and meetings to promote training offerings and resources available to members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience leading and facilitating training programs or courses.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to translate and deliver courses for Spanish-speaking members.
  • Proficient in writing and developing educational and training materials.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and other safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Adult Education, Communications, Organizational Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development and program development.
