Responsibilities

  • Independently perform testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of lubricant standards.
  • Write reports and communicate with clients.
  • Provide local expertise for friction testing and oversight on test stands.
  • Review and approve test reports.
  • Conduct evaluation of test procedures to determine compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify and ensure that test instruments and processes required to support the testing are prepared.
  • Set up and operate EUT (equipment under test); perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
  • Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
  • Communicate project status and test results to client and management throughout testing.
  • Compile data for final test results and compile final report using established report shell.
  • Identify, properly document, and recommend engineering judgments.
  • Monitor tests to identify and reduce sources of variability in procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of engines (gasoline or diesel) as well as their sub-systems is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Prior project management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
  • Microsoft Office expertise.

Nice-to-haves

  • BSME degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with ASTM lubricant test standards.
