The role involves designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. The incumbent will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Responsibilities include determining computer user needs, analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems, preparing operating instructions, and ensuring software standards are met. This position is part of the Software Configuration Management and Development (SwCMD) group within the Electric Plant Networks and Software Design section of Department E70/E83. The incumbent will also provide technical leadership through daily activities, including preparation and/or peer review of approval letters, interdepartmental memos, process guidelines, testing documentation, and code. Regular communication with the Navy, NNL, outside vendors, and management/engineers across the PPPY and other NNS departments is expected.
