About the position

The Environmental Scientist (EIR Scientist 1) position at Atlas Technical Consultants involves working on environmental assessment and remediation projects related to hazardous waste. The role requires a combination of fieldwork and office tasks, with a significant portion of the work (approximately 70%) conducted in the field. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced professionals and will have opportunities for advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental assessments and remediation projects related to petroleum and hazardous waste.
• Conduct site investigations and interpret environmental data.
• Write reports based on analysis of sampling data and field activities.
• Document field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling, installation of soil borings, and tank excavations.
• Work independently and as part of a team on various projects.
• Maintain field equipment and prepare field reports.

Requirements

• University or College degree in geology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or related field.
• 0-2 years of related environmental consulting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid Driver's license and ability to pass a MVR and Drug Screening.

Nice-to-haves

• 40-hour Hazwoper certification.
• Experience with CADD or GIS software.
