About the position

The position involves maintaining the cleanliness of all carpets, hard floors, and other floor areas within the casino under the Environmental Services (EVS) department. The role is essential for ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests and employees alike.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all areas that need to be cleaned and/or serviced.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties waste baskets and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Delivers messages.
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• Ensures that the appropriate cleaning product is used.
• Reports any problems or altercations to the Property Services Supervisor.
• Uses proper courtesy skills when working around guests and answering questions.
• Displays an energetic attitude while working with guests and employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Cleaning experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year work experience in a restaurant or casino, either front of house or back of house.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
