About the position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Flight Simulation Labs - DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Tools & IRAD team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, and execute efforts to develop solutions to tools and infrastructure problems across F-18.
  • Drive the creation of F-18 technical roadmaps for tooling and infrastructural efforts across all funding streams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and serve as a consultant to several F-18 scrum teams with respect to simulation architecture, software development best practices, and software tooling.
  • Lead F-18 Tooling efforts, including within the domains of automated testing, infrastructure, pipelines, common simulation components, etc.
  • Advise management on plans to meet the technical expectations of the software engineering organization, communizing tools and infrastructure across simulation platforms, and plans to achieve engineering excellence within the organization.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization, interfacing with groups such as design-practice teams, the software-engineering organization focals, FSL management and engineers, and external customers.
  • Lead engineering activities, including development and maintenance of software architectures, requirements development, creating software designs, implementing complex software solutions, and testing / integration activities.
  • Mentor early-career engineers across the Tools team to develop solutions to common problems.
  • Perform technical design reviews for development across FSL to ensure software quality, commonality, and engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada.
  • 5+ years of experience with DevSecOps and/or complex software build plans.
  • 5+ years of experience with automated testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree.
