About the position

The F.O.H. Assistant Manager will oversee daily bakery operations, ensuring efficient production, inventory management, and quality control. This role involves developing bakery menus, training staff, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in compliance with food safety standards. The Assistant Manager will also collaborate with other departments and assist in administrative tasks to support the bakery's success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bakery operations, including production, inventory management, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement bakery menus, ensuring a variety of baked goods to meet customer demands.
  • Train and supervise bakery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as catering, bartending, and coffee services, to coordinate bakery offerings for events and functions.
  • Monitor and manage bakery expenses, including ingredient costs and labor expenses.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new baking techniques to continuously improve bakery offerings.
  • Assist the manager in administrative tasks such as scheduling, ordering supplies, and managing budgets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is required.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, and other departments.
