About the position

The Facilities and Operations Administrator at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is responsible for managing and coordinating all facilities-related work requests for the Research and Exploratory Development Department. This role involves collaborating with internal and external customers to support facility and capital projects, ensuring timely solutions to service requests, and maintaining accurate space management reporting. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the intake, coordination, and tracking of all service requests and work orders for REDD Facilities.
  • Develop and implement processes for timely status updates to REDD Leadership.
  • Ensure Tririga is accurate and up-to-date with current staff locations and lab layouts.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Tririga and engage with the lab-wide Tririga Working Group.
  • Analyze space management reporting and provide recommendations for optimizing lab and office space.
  • Organize and manage all REDD capital project meetings, maintaining documentation of timelines and milestones.
  • Facilitate the procurement of capital purchases and coordinate requisitions with the Central Procurement Group.
  • Support the REDD Procurement Team by processing purchase requests during high-demand periods.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field.
  • Knowledge of APL business systems and processes.
