About the position

The Field Enforcement Agent 1 position at the Department of Revenue, Bureau of Enforcement and Taxpayer Assistance, involves conducting investigations of businesses and individuals suspected of violating various tax laws. Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced agents in conducting criminal and tax investigations.
  • Learn and implement collection techniques and procedures related to tax compliance.
  • Explain tax rules, regulations, reporting requirements, and penalties for noncompliance.
  • Enforce compliance of tax laws and regulations through the collection of delinquent taxes and missing returns.
  • Conduct detailed inventories of confiscated goods, products, and property.
  • Assist with interviewing witnesses and suspects to gather information.
  • Conduct surveillance of suspected individuals or locations.
  • Examine and analyze information and records related to investigations.
  • Prepare reports and evidence for presentation to prosecuting officials.
  • Make arrests and execute searches pursuant to court-ordered warrants.

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in tax investigation work or collections operations in a relevant field.
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Residency in Chester County is required.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
