About the position

Muhlbauer, Inc. is seeking a Field Services Technician to join their team in Newport News, VA. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and providing training on automation machines and systems used in the smart card and label industries. The technician will work both in-house and at customer sites, ensuring that systems are operational and providing support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Installation of machines and systems at customer sites and in-house
• Acceptance testing and training for systems at customer locations
• Repair and maintenance of operational systems
• Providing production and hotline support
• Following appropriate procedures for each service event
• Completing written documentation and feedback for service interventions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a plus
• Two or more years of experience with maintenance for machinery
• Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel frequently for weeks at a time, including training in Germany for 90 days
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to pass applicable background screenings and obtain clearance as required
