About the position

The Financial Analyst position at Precision Castparts Corp. involves maintaining and developing systems to measure financial and operational performance against forecasts and budgets. The role includes preparing financial analyses, managing a team of entry-level analysts, and providing financial oversight for accounting and reporting at the site location. The analyst will play a key role in the month-end close process and will work closely with various functional areas within the company to drive profitability and compliance with financial policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems for financial control and decision making, including Rolling Forecast files and cost trackers.
  • Manage and train entry-level analysts, ensuring they meet deadlines and support operations.
  • Provide financial oversight for accounting and reporting at the site location.
  • Initiate journal entries and review entries from direct reports during the month-end close process.
  • Manage inventory and cash flow, providing guidance on opportunities and risks.
  • Develop financial plans for variable and overhead costs to drive profitability and compliance.
  • Report and present on financial quarterly reviews and monthly operations reviews.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors for financial and SOX reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in technical accounting, budgeting, planning, and internal control.
  • Strong analytical skills to draw logical conclusions and adopt effective courses of action.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to lead and manage direct reports.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and other computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. export control laws and regulations.
