About the position

The Front Desk Manager at Minneapolis Marriott West & Courtyard is responsible for assisting the Front Office Manager in leading the front desk department to ensure exceptional guest service and efficient operations. This role focuses on driving revenue, maximizing profit, and maintaining high service standards while managing staff performance and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Front Office Manager in leading the front desk department.
  • Drive revenue and maximize profit through effective management.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by meeting service standards and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Train and model appropriate guest service standards for staff.
  • Hold staff accountable for anticipating needs and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Develop and implement creative service programs to increase guest satisfaction.
  • Manage expenses to maximize hotel profitability.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and efficient purchasing strategies.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the department budget.
  • Evaluate staff performance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Motivate staff by setting goals and providing feedback.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, coaching, and development of employees.
  • Ensure all required training for department employees is completed and documented.
  • Analyze quality issues and identify training needs for improvement.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Attend departmental meetings for effective communication and planning.
  • Conduct routine inspections of front desk operations to maintain standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service experience required.
  • 1+ years of supervisory/management experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
