About the position

The Front of House Manager at The Carlotta is responsible for overseeing the dining experience for residents, ensuring high standards of quality, productivity, and customer service. This role involves managing staff, coordinating meal service, and maintaining a clean and efficient dining environment, all while fostering positive relationships with residents and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the service of meals to ensure maximum resident enjoyment of the dining experience.
  • Assist residents and other servers in all areas of resident meal service as necessary.
  • Ensure the dining room POS system operates efficiently and train staff on its use.
  • Assure compliance with proper serving techniques and etiquette.
  • Supervise cleaning and side work in the dining room and kitchen areas.
  • Chart and assign dining room sections for wait staff as needed.
  • Ensure proper setup of dining room tables and server stations.
  • Bus tables and maintain cleanliness in dining areas.
  • Participate in discussions to identify concerns and confirm recommended actions for residents' well-being.
  • Actively participate in resident orientation programs and develop professional relationships with residents.
  • Assist with planning food items for activities, marketing, and special events.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; college course or education in food service and/or management preferred.
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience in a restaurant or similar environment.
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.
  • Able to safely operate standard household equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care practices.
  • Able to work with seniors and interact with cognitively impaired individuals.
  • Able to adapt to change and make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Able to analyze and solve problems or concerns.
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid certification.
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid Food Handler's certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in senior living or hospitality management.
  • Certification in food safety or related fields.
