About the position

The General Service Technician role at Monro, Inc. is a full-time or part-time hourly position responsible for performing basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services. The technician is expected to deliver exceptional service to guests by effectively communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions while ensuring that guest expectations for time commitments and quality are consistently met. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of service that Monro is known for, contributing to a five-star experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs effectively and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
  • Perform tire services including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
  • Conduct vehicle services such as lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements), battery testing, and installations.
  • Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
  • Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
  • Maintain the store in excellent condition and ensure it is guest-ready according to Monro standards for cleanliness.
  • Perform services in accordance with Monro's safety standards, including Wheel Torque and Oil safety compliance procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles following Monro's Road Test policy, utilizing dedicated test drive routes while observing local traffic and safety laws.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including governmental standards and safety protocols.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities through timely completion of Monro University training courses and modules.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment safely according to Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Automotive training including basic car maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a current valid driver's license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.
