About the position

The Group Housing Coordinator at Marriott International is responsible for processing all room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or email. Responsibilities

  • Process all room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or email.
  • Identify guest needs regarding reservations and determine the appropriate room type.
  • Verify room availability and rates.
  • Explain guarantee policies, special rates, and cancellation terms to callers.
  • Handle and document special requests from guests.
  • Respond to inquiries about hotel facilities and services.
  • Follow sales techniques to maximize revenue.
  • Communicate reservation information for VIP guests.
  • Enter and access data in the reservation system.
  • Address issues that arise while assisting guests with reservation requests by contacting the appropriate person or department.
  • Supervise the accuracy of room blocks and reservations.
  • Input group room lists using reservation systems and maintain organized files for all groups.
  • Set up appropriate billing accounts according to Accounting policies.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring a clean and professional appearance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating their service needs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others, preparing and reviewing written documents accurately.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others, supporting the team to achieve common goals.
  • Adhere to quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Read and visually verify information in various formats.
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
