Under general supervision, provides basic patient care and works with patients/clients to develop daily living skills. This role involves taking vital signs, answering clients' call signals, assisting in the administration of medications and treatments, and collecting bodily fluids as directed by a physician or nurse. The position also includes bathing, grooming, shaving, and dressing clients, conducting activities for recreation and socialization, and ensuring the safety and security of clients. Additional responsibilities include feeding clients who are unable to feed themselves, observing and documenting patient data, preparing clients for treatment or examination, and providing client care by supplying and emptying bedpans, applying dressings, and supervising exercise routines. The role also involves providing subprofessional occupational and/or physical therapy services to physically and/or developmentally disabled patients, transporting clients to treatment units, and turning and repositioning bedridden clients to prevent bedsores.
