About the position

The Horizontal Boring Mill Operator is responsible for setting up and operating horizontal boring mills to produce precision parts. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with team members to ensure smooth operations during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Follow Part Process Packet to set up parts for each operation.
• Program name and tools for each program as required.
• Follow instructions from the previous shift regarding ongoing operations.
• Regularly observe machines for tooling wear and make changes as needed.
• Check parts against specifications at the end of operations.
• Fill out necessary paperwork during each shift, including time tracking and job documentation.
• Identify and document non-conformances for scrap or rework parts.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and follow all safety protocols.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience setting up and running a horizontal boring mill.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks.
• Attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Prior experience running CNC machines and/or 5-axis mills.
