About the position

The Host/Hostess at On The Bend Oyster Bar & Cigar Lounge plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This position involves greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth operations within the restaurant. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service in a vibrant dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
• Escort guests to their designated tables and provide menus
• Assist in seating guests according to seating charts and restaurant policies
• Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information about the restaurant
• Manage the waitlist and notify guests when their table is ready
• Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
• Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and concerns
• Assist in coordinating special events or parties

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
• Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus, but not necessary
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
• Strong guest relations skills with a friendly and welcoming demeanor
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant
